Antiragging Committee

Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy, Bangalore has a Zero Tolerance towards any act of ragging.

As per the directions of the Honorable Supreme Court of India, Pharmacy Council of India & AICTE Act 1987 (52 of 1987); has enforced a regulation to curb the menace of ragging in higher educational institutions Clause (f), u/s 2 of UGC Act, 1956 with regard to prevention and prohibition of ragging in the Institution, committee has been constituted to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging including any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student, or indulging in unfair means or undisciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension. Thereof in any fresher or any other student or asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student, with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student in our institution.

Objectives & Responsibilities

  • To prevent any physical or mental torture or any disorderly conduct towards any student causing apprehension, dread, humiliation, or agitation in him/ her.
  • To maintain AL-AMEEN, a ragging free campus.
  • To create awareness about ragging & ensure a student-friendly environment at all times.
  • To ensure the display of posters on Institution and Department Notice Boards and other prominent designated places.
  • To offer services of counseling and create awareness to the students.
  • To conduct an on-spot enquiry into any incident of ragging referred to it by the faculty or student or parent or guardian, as the case may be: and the enquiry report along with recommendations shall be submitted to the Chairman.

ANTI-RAGGING SQUAD

The college has constituted an 'anti-ragging squad' comprising of faculty members and selected non-teaching staff that are responsible for discipline and compliance. Ragging incidences reported if any, will be investigated and strict disciplinary action will be initiated. The college is committed to zero tolerance for ragging.

Punishment to those found guilty

Any student or group of students found guilty of ragging in the campus or even outside the campus shall be liable to one or more of the following punishments:

  • Debarring from appearing in any sessional test/University Examination.
  • Suspension from attending classes and Labs.
  • Withdrawing scholarships and other benefits.
  • Suspension from the college for a period of one month.
