INSTITUTION INNOVATION COUNCIL OF AL-AMEEN

The Ministry of Education, Govt of India recognized Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru (AACP) in the year 2021 to promote innovation-based ecosystem in the campus.

In the year 2018, the Ministry of Education (MoE) through MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC) launched the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) program in collaboration with AICTE for Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to systematically foster the culture of INNOVATION and STARTUP ecosystem in educational institutions.

VISION

To establish innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem at Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy and foster the spirit of innovation among students and young researchers

MISSION

  • To create positive environment for entrepreneurship opportunities for students, faculty & Research Scholars.
  • To nurture the StartUps by providing them necessary support and guidance.
  • To provide support to commercialize innovative & sustainable ideas.

IIC is a faculty-experts-student council. Primarily, IICs’ role is to engage large number of faculty, students and staff in various innovation and entrepreneurship related activities such as ideation, Problem solving, Proof of Concept development, IPR, project handling and management at Pre-incubation/Incubation stage, etc., so that innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem gets established and stabilized in HEIs.

Objectives of IIC

  • To provide a platform for entrepreneurship development and encourage the students to choose entrepreneurship as their careers.
  • To motivate and support student’s ideas for developing a viable product, service, or platform.
  • To extrapolate the student’s projects to achieve national sustainable goals and thus to inculcate social responsive behaviour’s among students.
  • Mentoring students to develop necessary skills like critical thinking, design thinking, Innovative thought process and Entrepreneurial mind-set.

Functions of IIC

  • To conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by Central MIC in time bound fashion.
  • Identify and reward innovations and share success stories.
  • Organize periodic workshops/seminars/interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators.
  • Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations.
  • Organize Hackathon, Idea competition, mini-challenges etc. with the involvement of industries/StartUps.

Institution’s Innovation Council of Al-Ameen

The council of IIC AACP is formed with 21 staff members, 9 student members and 5 external experts. The council conducts various activities to fulfil the Vision and Mission.

IIC at Al-Ameen council has a diversified representation from all the six departments of our Institute having faculty, students, Non-teaching staff and external experts as members.
